A recent string of home burglaries that occurred mostly on the West Bank may have been solved last night, Sheriff Greg Champagne said.
Champagne said that a team of detectives and deputies converged on a Luling residence pursuant to a search warrant and discovered a large amount of stolen property.
Errol R. Falcon, 31, and Tracie Wright, 21, both of 399 Marcia St. in Luling, were both charged with six counts of possession of stolen property over $500, two counts of possession of stolen property from $300 to $500, and the theft of goods between $100 to $499.
“I personally viewed the scene and can say preliminarily that it appears that much of this property was stolen in the recent rash of burglaries in St. Charles Parish,” Champagne said. “Two individuals are now under arrest.”
Champagne said that as soon as his department can process and log all of the stolen items, he will provide more information.
“Which hopefully will close these recent burglary cases and allow us to return as much property as possible to the rightful owners,” he said. “I would urge everyone to maintain their vigilance during this holiday season.”
Falcon’s bond is being held on a $750,000 bond, while Wright’s bond is $250,000.
