Sears Hometown Store in Luling is getting ready for Christmas and that means new lines of appliances for laundry, cooking and keeping those holiday goodies tasty.
Topping the gift list for every customer is service, said store owner Kathy Witmer.
After six strong years of doing business, Sears Hometown continues to thrive thanks to the expertise of its staff, commitment to customer service and expanding selection of merchandize.
“We tend to go that extra mile,” Witmer said. “So the customer comes in with a product in mind, we show them the product and talk about it. But usually while we’re talking to them, we can find out maybe something else might be a better fit for them that they were not aware of. We need to show them that product as well so they can make a really educated decision when it comes to getting their appliance or meeting their lawn and garden needs.”
The goal is quality over quantity.
Witmer and her staff are all AAE (America’s Appliance Experts) certified as part of the Sears Hometown national effort to ensure store associates have industry leading comprehensive training, including brand specific selling certification.
These brand certified sales associates help ensure customers find the best products for their needs at the best possible price, she said.
“An expert helps the knowledgeable consumer make some great selections on their appliance because we may be able to demonstrate new features in refrigeration that they may not know about,” Witmer said.
There are new looks, style and features that will make the holiday extra special with new appliances with larger capacity, expanded access and quieter operation.
Sears’ leasing program can help make them available in an innovative way, she said.
“It’s for customers who like leasing or want a different financing option,” Witmer said. “That’s what is great about the leasing program, it’s an underserved market we can help out.”
Customers can lease new appliances at retail rates and even have an early buyout option.
“It’s really a nice choice for people where a Sears card may not be an option,” Witmer said.
Located in the St. Charles Plaza in the old Delchamps building, the retail store features tops leading brands of appliances including Kenmore, and also carries Craftsman tools, lawn care equipment and Sealy mattresses.
The store, which opened in January of 2012, is among 1,160 stores of its kind in the United States. Sears Hometown Stores is a national retailer focused on selling home appliances, lawn and garden equipment, tools and hardware.
Additionally, Sears aims to cultivate confidence in its customer base with solid protection agreements.
“Our philosophy is to provide excellent customer service along with high quality products and all our staff members are trained in this philosophy,” she said. “The result is that we work with our customers to ensure the products they purchase meet their needs as well as their desires.”
