‘Scream’ very loud – again: Filming returns to area for the TV series

A “Scream: The TV Series” film crew re-appeared in Luling last week to continue filming the MTV slasher series.

The telltale signs saying, “S2,” reappeared in the area last Tuesday, directing actors and crew to the same cottage style house on Fourth Street for the latest shooting.

In recent months, crews appeared in several areas of St. Charles Parish shooting for the MTV television series. In February, Scream crews appeared in New Orleans for second season filming. The first season was filmed in Baton Rouge while this one is being done in the New Orleans area, including the parish.

About the same time, Mike and Becky Henderson confirmed they signed a contract for Scream 2 filming at their historic home near Homeplace Plantation in Hahnville, which they said could occur any time from February to July.

By March, crews were in Luling where they shot scenes all night for the hit slasher show. Neighbors reported receiving a notice from the film crew apologizing for any noises – screams, of course – during the late night shoots.

As with the last shooting, Quixote Studios trailers again lined up in the parking lot of the old CVS parking lot on Paul Maillard Road.

The television series was adapted from the movie “Scream” that debuted in 1996. Show writer Jill Blotevogel told Entertainment that season 2’s “new mystery” for the show will focus on who the person is behind the mask.
