A school bus carrying Destrehan High School students to a field trip at the World War II museum last week hit an unexpected delay when a pipe from a neighboring truck hit a bus window.
The bus was on the corner of Baronne and Calliope streets in New Orleans when a single pipe from a nearby truck hit the windshield and one side window.
Rochelle Cancienne-Touchard, public information director for the schools, said that no one was seriously injured and that police were not involved at all.
“Three kids had scratches and were treated for them. No one was arrested,” Cancienne-Touchard said.
After the incident, the district’s transportation department filed a report and the nurse checked on the students with minor scratches.
