The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent crash Saturday night in Luling that involved a train and a vehicle.
The crash occurred on Davis Drive. The roadway at the railroad crossings closest to River Road on Barton and Davis Drive is closed and may remain closed for several hours, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which reported the situation at approximately 8 p.m.

Still haven’t made this a safe crossing in over 40 years. My brother was killed here in 1977 due to no lights or crossing arms. The trains didn’t have a front light either, it was broken. I don’t know the particulars about this accident but it hits home for sure.
