Residents with odd antiques could be featured on TV show

St. Charles Parish residents with barns, warehouses or buildings full of odd, unique and interesting antiques could get the chance to be featured on a History Channel TV show.

“American Pickers” is a popular cable show featuring Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, longtime “pickers” who drive the back roads of America in their quest to find antique treasures.

The two find such treasures by digging through barns and basements and sifting through junkyards and warehouses.

“The dirty, rusty treasures and antiques they pull out of these places are not just given new life; they’re saved for future generations to appreciate,” Anthony Rodriguez, one of the show’s producers, said. “Along the way the guys meet the amazing people and interesting places that make America great.”

Wolfe and Fritz are coming to Louisiana and are looking for people who have old toys, pinball and slot machines, vintage movie memorabilia, taxidermy, sports memorabilia, pre-1940s telephones, Civil War antiques, vintage gas pumps, strange woodcarvings and other antique items.

Anyone who has an abundance of the items mentioned can send an email to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 1(855) –OLD-RUST.
