Police: Woman broke into co-worker’s home, knocked her out

A 27-year-old New Orleans woman was arrested after police say she broke into a co-workers home in Des Allemands, knocked her out with the butt of a rifle and stole items from the residence.

Dawina G. Mclaren, of 2343 Martin Luther King Blvd., entered the Des Allemands home at about 3 a.m. with two unidentified people, according to Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

When Mclaren entered, she struck the homeowner in the head with a rifle and knocked her out, Yoes said. Mclaren and two others went through the home and allegedly stole clothes and other items.

Mclaren was charged with aggravated burglary and is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center in Killona.

Police are still searching for the two people who were with her at the time of the alleged crime.
