Police searching for suspect in murder of DHS grad

Suspect is 16 years old

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for Keywine “Poppa” Bradford, who is wanted for the murder of Jared Mealey, which occurred on May 29, in St. Rose.

Mealey was found on Turtle Creek Drive, slumped over in the seat in his still running late-model Monte Carlo with its driver’s side window shattered with obvious bullet holes in his face and neck.

Mealey’s father, Leo Mealey, said Bradford was the younger brother of Mealey’s ex-girlfriend.

Bradford is described as a 16-year-old black male (5’8, 165 pounds) with a last known address of 126 First St. in St. Rose. Bradford is considered possibly armed and dangerous and is believed to be in the New Orleans area.
