Police say man armed himself, threatened to kill responding deputies

A Des Allemands man was arrested after police say he threatened to kill himself and any deputy who arrived at his home to stop him.

According to St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes, 36-year-old Lee Robichaux threatened to harm his wife, children and himself and was asked by his wife to leave. Robichaux then armed himself with two loaded rifles and said that he would kill himself and any officers who responded to his wife’s call to police, Yoes said.

Robichaux reportedly took the rifles into a shed near his home, but deputies were able to disarm him and place him under arrest.

Robichaux’s wife and children were not injured during the incident. He added that one of the deputies who responded to the call also received lacerations to his arms during the scuffle.

Robichaux was booked with domestic abuse battery, terrorizing, resisting an officer by force/violence and battery on a police officer. His bond has been set at $200,000.
