Police release image of vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

Surveillance footage has been released of a vehicle suspected of running over a St. Rose mother on Thanksgiving morning before driving off.

The woman, 25-year-old Christin Allday, received life-threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital, where she later died.

According to state police, the vehicle was traveling southbound on St. Rose Avenue at 1:45 a.m. when the crash occurred. Allday walked across the road and was hit after she failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle.

The vehicle, which is believed to be a dark colored truck or SUV, then turned east onto River Road. The driver of the vehicle did not stop or return to the scene of the crash.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible for the crime.  Callers do not have to give their name or testify to receive the cash reward. Citizens with information should call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (504) 822-1111 or 1-877-903-STOP.
