Charged with attempted murder
A Destrehan woman who got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend tried to resolve the conflict by hitting him with her car.
Kerrie Schexnaider, 48, of 317 Ormond Meadows Drive in Destrehan, was arrested last Wednesday and charged with first-degree attempted murder and hit–and-run driving. St. Charles Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said he did not know what the two were arguing about.
The victim, who was not identified, was taken to Ochsner Hospital in Kenner with injuries. Yoes said he was later transferred to another hospital, but did not know the name of the facility.
“At this time, I do not know the extent of his injuries nor do I know the specifics of the argument,” he said.Schexnaider, who remained in the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility under a $150,000 bond as of Monday, is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on May 12.
