Police: Armed robber on the loose

Robbed Circle K in Boutte on Jan. 6

Sheriff Greg Champagne wants residents to be on the look-out for a suspect in an armed robbery on Thursday, Jan. 6.

A 27-year-old Boutte woman was robbed while working at Circle K on Highway 90 in Boutte around 1:45 a.m.

The suspect, an unkown black male, entered the store and grabbed a can of beer and beef jerky and asked the woman at the register for a carton of cigarettes. When the victim gave the suspect his total, he jumped over the counter, punched the victim in the face and fled the scene with the cash in the register, according to police.

The suspect is described as being 20-30 years old, 5’10” to 6’2″ in height and wearing a black hoodie, camoflauge shorts, brown apron and black shoes.
