Paradis man robbed at knife-point

Attacker still on the loose

On Aug. 24 at approximately 2 a.m., a 32-year-old Paradis man was robbed at knife-point at a local bank located on River Road in Destrehan as he attempted to make a night deposit for his employer. Before he could complete the deposit, the victim was suddenly approached by an unknown black male dressed in dark or black clothing and is identified as wearing a ski mask.

The attacker pointed a knife at the man and demanded that he drop the bag of money that he was holding.

The victim did as he was ordered, and the attacker took the money and fled the scene.

According to Sgt. LaGrange with the sheriff’s office, the identity of the victim and his employer are being withheld in an effort to protect their safety and to prevent jeopardizing any current investigation related to the crime.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone having any information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the attacker are asked to contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 783-6807.
