Ooh la la! TV workshop for people who, well … ‘parlez vous francais’

It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s FRENCH

The Council for the Development of French in Louisiana and Média-Louisiane are offering a free television production workshop for French speakers in Louisiana of all ages on Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, at Acadiana Open Channel in Lafayette. In this workshop, participants will learn, in a relaxed environment, how to use a camera and do video production and editing to produce a 1-5 minute segment which enhances public awareness of French in Louisiana. Free accommodations are available for out-of-town participants.

Média-Louisiane is a committee composed of participants in French-speaking media around the state. Supported in part by grants from the French government, as well as Foundation Louisiane, its main purpose is to encourage the promotion of the production of French media in Louisiana. Média-Louisiane has supported numerous local television productions through Acadiana Open Channel, book publications, and the diffusion of documentary series around Louisiana.

CODOFIL is a Louisiana state agency founded in 1968 to support the French-speaking people of Louisiana. Foundation Louisiane is a non-profit organization which primarily offers scholarships to Louisiana students to study French abroad, as well as many other projects involving French and the culture here in Louisiana.

Please contact or stop by the CODOFIL offices at 217 West Main St. in Lafayette for an application or contact us at 337-262-5810 or elainefc@bellsouth.net. Space is limited, so dépêchez-vous (hurry up!), and sign up as soon as possible!
