One of three suspects in Destrehan burglary turns self in

Damani Wells, one of three New Sarpy men sought in connection with a Destrehan robbery and battering of the victims, turned himself in to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office today.Wells was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of attempted first-degree robbery, and was being held in Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.

The Sheriff’s Office is still seeking two additional suspects Antonio Payne and Tyran Joseph in the Jan. 5 robbery near Plantation Road in Destrehan.

The three suspects approached the victims implying they were armed with a weapon and took cell phones and a wallet from them, according to the Sheriff’s Office. They battered the victims and fled on foot.

Payne is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds. Joseph is approximately 5-foot, 9-inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

Payne’s last known address is 229 Clement St. in New Sarpy. Joseph’s last known address was 235 Annex St. in New Sarpy.
