Norco man gets 10 years for drug dealing

Pleads guilty to distributing counterfeit marijuana

A 17-year-old Norco male who was arrested in September for allegedly illegally discharging a firearm and causing aggravated criminal damage to property was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison.

Brenden Silvestri, of 47 West B St. in Norco, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, with five years deferred, after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of intent to distribute counterfeit marijuana.

Silvestri will get credit for time served.

He withdrew a plea of not guilty to eight charges to accept a sentence on that charge.

Silvestri was also charged with illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal possession of stolen firearms, aggravated criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm while in possession or marijuana and possession of a legend drug (steroid). Those charges were dismissed.

Silvestri and another Norco teen, 18-year-old Jordan Perilloux, were fugitives wanted by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in late September in connection with the alleged illegal discharging of a firearm in a residence and aggravated criminal damage to property on Sept. 22 in Norco.

Warrants were issued the next day for the two and an alert was sent out by the Sheriff’s Office asking for information on their whereabouts.

The two were turned in by Jordan Perilloux’s brother, Kaleb, who learned the two were fugitives as he was en route to pick them up from Prairieville.

Silvestri also receives five years of active probation. He must contact a probation officer within 48 hours of his release and he has been ordered to pay a $65 monthly fee for probation supervision.

He was fined $500 plus other costs and has been ordered to maintain full-time employment or attend a full-time trade school until earning a certificate of completion.

Silvestri has also been given notice of a two-year prescriptive period for post-conviction relief.

Perilloux’s case was still pending as of this week.
