A New Sarpy man has been charged with rape of a 6-year-old family member. Willes Anderson, 64, of 771 E. Terrace St., was arrested May 4 and charged with aggravated rape after allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with the child.
According to St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes, the incident took place at Anderson’s home in New Sarpy.
He said the Sheriff’s Office learned of the situation via a teacher at the victim’s school.
“There was a comment made to a school teacher who then alerted the Sheriff’s Office,” Yoes said.
Anderson is being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on a bond of $500,000.
He is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on May 4.
