New airline establishes non-stop, roundtrip flights at Armstrong

Representatives of Louis Armstrong International Airport recently announced the addition of air carrier GLO to the airport’s roster of airline choices, and that GLO will begin running daily, non-stop flights beginning in November.

Round-trip air service will be provided to Little Rock’s Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT), Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV.

Trey Fayard, who established the New Orleans-based air carrier, said that he knew from experience how inefficient the business travel process can be when multiple flights or long drives were involved, and from that understanding yielded an opportunity.

“I was acting as of a charter broker (in years past) for my buddies and friends that simply ‘couldn’t get there from here,’” Fayard said. “You had people spending long hours in a city, staying overnight when it wouldn’t otherwise be necessary … I’m making these trips, teaming with people to charter very small planes, and it was just a time inefficient process.

“I thought, if I’m having this problem, a lot of others must be as well. And that made me think there could be an opportunity in this.”

Fayard said the addition of non-stop, round-trip flights affords travelers the chance to make a quicker trip to and from a city during daily business hours and be able to return home to spend the night with their families or spend some leisure time.

“The idea of countless nights spent in a hotel isn’t appealing,” Fayard said. “The response we’ve had to it has been outstanding.”
