Missing Norco woman found

Woman has long history of mental illness

Sheriff Greg Champagne reported last week that the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was actively looking for a missing Norco resident with a long history of mental illness. The victim, Linda Kay Costanza, was last seen on July 8 and was reported missing by family members who said that Costanza is mentally unstable and suffers from schizophrenia, manic-depressive illness, and has a bi-polar disorder that requires medication.

After almost a week of  looking for Costanza, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s office  reported that she was found after a news report aired Thursday. This led to the sheriff’s office receiving several phone calls regarding the case.  One call led officers to Touro Hospital in New Orleans.

It was later determined that Costanza was found on July 10 walking the streets of New Orleans, and was brought  by ambulance to Touro Hospital.  She had been admitted in the mental ward of the hospital.

Costanza was picked up July 14 by her family from Touro Hospital. According to family members, Costanza is doing fine.
