Many mail services resumed today, Boutte Post Office to run out of Luling location

The U.S. Postal Service’s Louisiana District announced Tuesday the resumption of most mail delivery and retail operations, which in several locations had been temporarily suspended due to Hurricane Ida, including in St. Charles Parish.

Effective today (Sept. 7.) almost all Post Offices beginning with ZIP Codes 700, 701, 703, and 704 were scheduled to resume retail services and delivery, where it is safe to do so, with the exception of some post office locations that will use other locations temporarily as an alternative site. That includes the Boutte Post Office, which will use the Luling Post Office located at 1363 Paul Maillard Road in Luling.

Some offices like Boutte will either provide service via an alternate location, or customers will be served by a USPS mobile retail unit at the site of their regular Post Office – the St. Rose Post Office will be one such site. Customers will be able to conduct postal retail transactions, fill out Change of Address and Hold Mail forms, and pick up their P.O. Box mail with proper identification.

The Postal Service noted it will continue to monitor conditions and is working to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.
