Man dies in Boutte as result of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound

A man is dead after suffering an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in Boutte Friday, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report regarding the incident, which occurred on 13552 Highway 90 in Boutte. There was no known threat to the public, but there was an increased police presence in the area for a time today (Sept. 2). Deputies have since left the scene. The fatal gunshot wound is suspected to be self-inflicted, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
