Man charged with vehicular homicide after Paradis wreck

A New Iberia man who was involved in a fatal crash on Highway 90 in Paradis has been booked with vehicular homicide.

According to the Louisiana State Police, Louis Langlinais III, 45, was speeding westbound down the highway on June 9 when he lost control of his truck near Scott Lane and hit a raised driveway.

The vehicle flipped several times and Langlinais, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. A passenger in Langlinais’ truck, Crystal Hardy, 39, of Youngsville, died in the crash. She was wearing her seat belt.

Authorities suspect that Langlinais was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was transported to LSU Interim Public Hospital and was booked with vehicular homicide last weekend.
