A 45-year old Des Allemands man booked in St. Charles Parish for his 8th DWI can add attempted bribery of an officer to the charges filed against him, according to police reports.
Roger Giddens was stopped Feb. 24 for driving erratically and then tried to escape officers on foot before offering a deputy $1,000 to drive him home instead of to jail, authorities said.
Judge Robert Chaisson set bail at $131,000.
