Luling Winn-Dixie flasher pleads guilty

Exposed himself to shoppers, police say

A 19-year-old Ama man accused of flashing two shoppers at the Winn-Dixie in Luling will avoid further jail time but must obtain a mental health evaluation.

Tevin White, of 153 Kennedy St., pled guilty to one count of obscenity last week and was sentenced to three years in prison, but that sentence was suspended. He was also given three years of active probation.

In December, White walked up to a woman shopping at Winn-Dixie’s spice isle and asked her the time, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. When the woman told him it was 3 p.m., White allegedly said, “Oh, is it that late?” He then asked the victim “did you see this?” When the woman looked down, she saw White’s genitals exposed above the waistband of his shorts.

The woman said she looked back at the spice isle and White walked away.

A short time later, another woman pulled into the Winn-Dixie parking lot and said she saw White sitting in his car with his genitals exposed. He made eye contact with the woman and said “sorry” before speeding off toward Lakewood Drive, according to the police report.

Both women contacted the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the store and used White’s license plate number to track him down.
