Luling man sought by police, allegedly fired handgun in Paul Fredrick St. altercation

A Luling man accused of firing a handgun from his vehicle during an altercation at a local business is being sought by police.The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for Leonard Celestine, a 23-year-old black male standing approximately 5’7 and weighing 140 lbs. Celestine has shoulder length dread-lock style hair and most recently resided at 1108 Paul Fredrick St.

He wanted on charges of illegal use of a firearm from a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies. Those charges are related to an incident where Celestine and another subject were involved in an altercation at a local business. After the subject left, Celestine allegedly pursued the subject to an area near the 500 block of Paul Fredrick Street and fired a handgun from his vehicle.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident or who possibly knows Celestine’s whereabouts is asked by the Sheriff’s Office to contact Detective Christopher Baird at (985)783-1135 or to contact 911.

Citizens can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. Callers do not have to give their name or testify and could receive up to $2,500.
