A Luling man has been charged with stalking the same female juvenile that he is accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with in June.

Larry Sweeney Sr., 74, of 109 Dogwood Drive, was arrested and charged Aug. 19 with stalking and violating a protective order.

During July and August, Sweeney allegedly drove slowly past the juvenile’s residence several times, which violates conditions of his bond resulting in the arrest, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On June 28, Sweeney was also arrested and charged based on accusations of inappropriate sexual relations and battery with this same juvenile. Sweeney was released on $100,000 bond.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, police became aware of the alleged indecent behavior with the minor after parents brought the minor to a healthcare provider that contacted the Sheriff’s Office. A warrant was issued for Sweeney’s arrest.

As of Aug. 27, Sweeney had been released from Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility.
