Luling man booked for murder in knife fight

A house break-in could have turned deadly for a couple who was awakened by the sound of a man crashing through their back door. At press time, Troy Clulee, 42, 402 Kellog Drive, Luling, was still being held on $500,000 bond after he was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, says the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange.

“A man and woman were in their bedroom when they heard somone breaking into their house through the back door,” says LaGrange.

The male victim went towards the back of the house to investigate and was met in the hall way by a man with a knife.

“The two began to physically fight, leading to the victim being cut on the hand with the knife,” says LaGrange. Clulee, who is the father of the woman’s children, allegedly threatened to kill the man, and detectives believe that he had all intentions to follow through with his threat, says LaGrange.

“We are glad no one was killed,” said LaGrange.
