Luling man accused of raping family member

Victim, now 17, was 4 was incidents began

A 61-year-old Luling man was arrested Friday on one charge of aggravated rape of a family member.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office did not release the name of the alleged perpetrator as to not identify the victim.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Patrick Yoes, the victim is 17 years old and had been subjected to inappropriate contact from the family member for years.

“The incidents began when she was 4 years old,” Yoes said. “The victim disclosed the information to a care provider who alerted the Sheriff’s Office.”

The man was arrested and booked into Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
