Luling company staying well-stocked with cleaning supplies

With 288 cans of Lysol gone in 45 minutes last week, it’s safe to say the staff at Quality Cleaning Equipment & Supply has been busy.

The Luling store, located at 12715 Highway 90, has been a fixture in the local business landscape since its opening in 1988. General Manager Garrett Monti said current operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Cleaning products have been in high demand since the start of the pandemic, he said, which means some supplies – such as bottles and trigger sprayers – are becoming increasingly hard to get into the store from suppliers. Even so, Monti said the family-run business is focused on taking care of the needs of their local customers and doing whatever it takes to get the products people need.

“We can be a lot more flexible than a big box store with established supply chains,” Monti said. “I can call around and make something happen.”

While all brands of cleaning products have been flying off the shelves, Monti said his recommendation for cleaning and disinfecting during the pandemic has been Bioesque Botanical Disinfectant.

“Bioesque is a product made from thyme … it’s been a best seller,” Monti said, adding the cleaning agent is less harsh than other products and is safer to use around small children and pets. “We’ve sold like three truckloads of it so far and we’ve got another 10,000 gallons on the way.”

According to its label, Bioesque has been proven to kill 99.99 percent of viruses, including coronavirus, in one minute. The product is sold in containers ranging in size from one quart to 55-gallon drums.

Also available at the Luling store are wipe kits comprised of six rolls of 180 wipes and a container. Monti said customers can add one quart of Bioesque disinfectant to the container to make their own disinfecting wipes – another product that has been hard to come by in the pandemic.

The business’ Facebook page is as active as ever with product stock updates, he said, adding the social media page serves as an easy way for customers to stay aware about what products are currently available.

Monti said company employees, himself included, have felt a sense of pride in being able to continue to service their St. Charles Parish customers in such uncertain times. He hopes Quality Cleaning Equipment & Supply is a place people will turn to first for their cleaning needs – even long after this pandemic is over.

“Please remember who took care of you when nobody else could,” Monti said of his store. “When Wal-Mart was out, we were in stock … please remember us after because we were able to support you in your time of need … please shop us first when all this over.”
