Luling businesswoman Charlotte Troxler, who was arrested last year and charged with stealing more than $300,000 from two car dealerships, is now accused of stealing more than $700,000 from Saints owner Tom Benson.
Troxler has been charged with three counts of bank fraud allegedly committed during her employment with Benson, as well as during her tenure with Leson Chevrolet and Ray Brandt car dealerships.
The alleged thefts from Benson took place before 2004 and continued until 2006, according to the bill of information.
During that time, Troxler fraudulently created and endorsed checks that Benson had not authorized and approved resulting in the theft of $718,434, according to federal documents.
She was charged with that theft on Friday.
In November, Troxler was arrested and charged with stealing $180,934 from the Ray Brandt Dodge dealership and $166,668 from Leson Chevrolet. She had worked as the financial controller for both companies between 2008 and 2009.
She also admitted stealing cash from the businesses, according to the bill.
Troxler would deposit stolen checks, which were drawn on the companies’ bank accounts, into personal bank accounts she controlled at First American Bank, according to the bill of information,
Her attorney, David Moyer, said that Troxler will likely be sentenced to five years in jail. However, due to her cooperation with federal authorities, that sentence could be reduced.
Troxler worked for Benson from 1985 until 2006, and said she left after Benson asked her to move to San Antonio.
She then opened Vous Salon and Spa in Paradis, but left the business in 2008 to work for Ray Brandt.
