Lance Marino announces candidacy for Clerk of Court

By Lance Marino

My name is Lance Marino and I am a candidate for St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court. I am 45 years old.

For the past 8 years, it has been my honor to serve St. Charles Parish as Councilman-at-Large, Division A and as the District 6 Councilman. My wife of 17 years is Mary Waguespack Marino and we have four children: Jacob, 13; Elena, 11; Rachel, 9; and Dominic, 6. Mary is a licensed Physical Therapist who is employed at St. Charles Parish Hospital.

We are parishioners of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco. I am a member The Norco Lions Club and The Knights of Columbus Red Church Council #3634.

I am a graduate of Destrehan High School. I worked my way through Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.

I have seven years paralegal experience and am the former owner/operator of “Lance Marino Legal Support Services, Inc.”. Today I am an Independent Insurance Broker specializing in employee benefits.

For the past eight years I have acted responsibly with your tax dollars, supporting prudent management of our parish’s substantial budget while completing record numbers of road, drainage, flood control and hurricane protection projects.

As a Council Leader, I chaired the council meetings for 2 consecutive years, presiding over organized proceedings, efficiently doing parish business while welcoming public input.

I brought back the opening prayer to our agenda as well as the practice of having The Pledge of Allegiance always led by one of St. Charles Parish’s Honored Veterans.

As your next Clerk of Court, I look forward to ushering in an era of modernization to the Clerk’s office. I will bring electronic access, for the first time, to the public, the legal community, and the courts. Besides affording convenience to all who deal with the office, on-line services will promote even more safety in our community by providing effective tools for our law enforcement agencies to do their jobs.

Once again you will find that I am an energetic and enthusiastic campaigner, determined to deliver my message: I am a public servant whom you can trust. I am honest, intelligent and professional. I will wage a positive campaign based on my desire to update The Clerk’s Office for the overall good of St. Charles Parish.

If you would like to discuss these issues with me or join my campaign, please call me at 985-725-1594.
