The cat is finally out of the bag: Clayton “Snookie” Faucheux, vice chairman for St. Charles Parish, says he’s running for parish president.
“I will release a press statement within days to make it official,” Faucheux, pictured, told the Herald-Guide.
“I don’t know who may be running against me, like everybody else I have heard the rumors – but I won’t repeat them.
“I’m sure we’ll hear all the names before long.”
Faucheux didn’t give any inside information about his platform.
But over the past few months, he has taken a high profile in council meetings.
He has worked on proposals to put a library in the Bayou Gauche-Des Allemands area.
And he was instrumental in the library construction project that’s now under way on the east bank of the parish in St. Rose.
Faucheux also submitted to council a proposal – that was passed – providing for the display of historical and religious documents in the parish courthouse.
“The Ten Commandments, Mayflower Compact, Declaration of Independence and the Articles ending slavery have come in and should be posted in the courthouse in February,” Faucheux says.
The Herald-Guide will feature your candidacy, too. Write to Shonna Riggs at editor@heraldguide.com
