Important voting deadlines announced

Registrar of Voters Brian J. Champagne would like to remind the public of important dates to remember regarding voting. His office can be reached at 985-783-5120 or by emailing registrarofvoters@stcharlesgov.net.

Important dates for the July 11 election, formerly set for April 4 and rescheduled because of COVID-19, are as follows.

This election includes the Democrat and Republican Presidential Preference Primary (only for those registered Democrat or Republican), the District 56 Democratic State Central Committee, (only for those registered Democrat in State Representative District 56) and the Special District 1 Justice Of The Peace Elections (only for those registered in Council District 1).

July 7 is the last day to request absentee by mail ballots, and July 10 is the last day for Registrar to receive voted absentee ballots.

Early voting will run June 22 – June 27 and June 29 – July 4.

Registrar Office Locations include the Westbank Courthouse at 15045 River Road in Hahnville and the Arterbury Building at 14564 River Road in New Sarpy.

Election Day polls will be open July 11 from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
