Monique Roth hit the ground running around the parish this week as the news reporter and Lifestyles Editor for the St. Charles Herald-Guide.
Roth will focus her efforts on covering a wide range of parish topics and interests – something she said she’s very happy about.
“I’m excited to jump right in and help to tell poignant stories of people in the parish, as well as cover developments in the council and school board,” Roth said. “St. Charles Parish is such a unique and thriving area, and I can’t wait to highlight all it has to offer.”
Roth has both her undergraduate and graduate degree in journalism, which she has utilized in the past as an instructor at Southeastern Louisiana University and a reporter at various newspapers and online publications. She grew up in LaPlace, where she currently resides with her husband and three daughters. After spending the last few years at home with her girls, she said she’s eager to tackle this new venture.
“I never doubted that I wanted to return to journalism eventually,” Roth said. “I’ve missed writing for a weekly paper and the timing is perfect for this opportunity.”
