Group made famous by America’s Got Talent to perform at Lafon Arts Center

Sons of Serendip will perform at the Lafon Arts Center at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.

America’s Got Talent finalists Sons of Serendip are set to perform at the Lafon Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Feb. 18.

The Billboard-charting quartet is known for their stirring interpretations of pop music arranged with a blend of vocals, harp, piano and cello. The group has four albums and has even charted on Billboard. Sons of Seredip finished as finalists in season 9 of America’s Got Talent before returning to America’s Got Talent: The Champions in 2019. The group also performed for Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision Tour.

“The community is very excited to see a group they fell in love with while watching two seasons of America’s Got Talent live in concert on the Lafon Arts Center’s stage,”  Allison Hymel, marketing and box office manager for the Lafon Arts Center, said.

Sons of Serendip’s most notable performances include collaborations with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops, the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as well as a performance for the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

“Sons of Serendip’s members are exceptionally talented musicians who excel in their respective instruments,” Hymel said. “The group covers a wide range of musical genres, from classical to pop, infusing each piece with their signature style and creativity. This diversity ensures there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

The group is made up of lead vocalist Micah Christian, pianist and guitarist Cordaro Rodriguez, cellist Nathaniel Taylor and harpist Mason Morton. Each have been playing their instruments since childhood.

Sons of Serendip will take the Lafon Performing Arts Center stage at 3 p.m Tickets are $45 each.

Just days after Sons of Serendip take the stage, the Lafon Arts Center will welcome dance company Ailey II on Thursday, Feb. 22 with the performance beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Ailey II was founded in 1974 and is now one of the most popular modern dance companies.
