Grants available for promoting cajun french media products Média-Louisiane and the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) would like to help you create new media products in French.
Grants of $250 to $1000 to Louisiana residents or organizations for project or technical assistance to aid in the production of print, television, radio, internet or Cdrom projects in French.
The committee is particularly interested in products or programs which showcase speakers of Louisiana French and their rich cultural heritage, provide materials for the teaching of French or for the Louisiana French-speaking community or French or otherwise provide information or support to the French-speaking community.
Past grant winners include Brenda Mounier for the video project, Bonjour L’Histoire, which incorporated lessons on Acadian history given by her middle school French students in French and in English. The committee also offered grant assistance to Amanda LaFleur for her book, Tonnerre Mes Chiens, a compilation of French expressions native to Louisiana.
The deadline for submitting a proposal is October 1, 2007. The committee will announce the grant awards on or before October 31, 2007.
