God bless you all

Vicki Bergeron looks over some of the cards and letters St. Charles parishioners sent to her son, Kyle.

Mom Vicki Bergeron says cards, letters and donations brightened son Kyle’s final hours

Kyle Bergeron’s funeral on Friday, Jan. 12 will include displays of hundreds of cards and letters that poured in over the last few weeks of his life, which ended peacefully in his sleep, on the beach he loved, on Dec. 30. Originally set for noon, services are now slated for 3 p.m. so that schoolmates won’t have to miss classes to attend.

“We’re displaying cards and letters because we want everyone to see the outpouring of love for Kyle and let them know how much we appreciated their thoughts and prayers,” Vicki Bergeron, the cancer-stricken teen’s mother, told the Herald-Guide.

“There also were many donations of blood for the transfusions that enabled him to stay with us a little longer than he would have without them, and there was financial support, too.

“There are so many wonderful people who live in this community, people who cared and who were rooting for Kyle and in his corner.

“The Herald-Guide’s stories on Kyle alerted everyone to our situation, and the response was overwhelmingly beautiful.

“Words can’t express how much Kyle appreciated the kind thoughts and the love. Words can’t express what they meant to me, and to Charles, Kyle’s dad, and his twin brother Logan.”
