Food, carnival rides, game booths, face painting, live bands and more await patrons this weekend as the 40th annual Little Red Church Food and Fun Festival will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Church, located at 13396 River Road in Destrehan.
Janeen Rodrigue, the church’s youth minister, said it’s been two long years since the event has been able to take place because of the pandemic.
“I think everyone is really excited just to bring it back,” she said. “It’s always been a very family-oriented, community event and I think it’s really exciting that it’s coming back.”
Rodrigue said raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle will also be available for fair attendees.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Celebrating Milestones in History.” On Friday the fair will be open from 6-10 p.m., and on Saturday festivities will span from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. On Sunday the fair will be open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
