Destrehan scene of yet another robbery

Bald body-builder flashes Norco walkers

Destrehan was the scene of another robbery last week, as two black males entered the Shell gas station and made off with money from the cash register.

A LaPlace woman was working at the store at 1:21 a.m. when the two men entered the building. The robbers, who had bandannas covering their faces, approached the register, with one standing in front of the cash register and the other standing next to the counter on the cashier’s platform.

The man standing in front of the register told the woman to “hurry up, give me the money.” Meanwhile, the other robber stood with his hand under his shirt as if he was holding a gun.

The woman asked the men not to hurt her, and then handed over $439. The two men then fled the scene.

Both men were described as being between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet. One of the men had a blue and white bandanna covering his face with eye holes cut out. The second man was wearing a white bandanna over his face, but was also wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering on the front. Both men had on black pants and shirts.

This crime shares certain similarities with another Destrehan business robbery that occured last month.
On the evening of Jan. 17,  two black males entered Video Traques, with one of the men pointing a handgun at the store’s female employee. The employee complied with the robber’s request for money and was tied up by the men afterward. The victim was able to free herself and contact the sheriff’s office.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange said that one of the two robbers was described as being between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet. He weighed between 175 to 180 pounds. The second robber was described as being between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches and weighing from 170 to 180 pounds.

In other news, two Norco women were walking a dog near the intersection of 5th and West B Street last week when they observed a tall white male staring at them. The man appeared to only be wearing an undershirt and soon fled the scene.
The suspect was described as a bald white male with a body builder physique. Both women were unsure if the man was wearing pants or was naked from the waist down.

Both of these incidents are currently under investigation and anyone having information about the robbery or the alleged flasher is urged to contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-6807.
