Destrehan Burger King employee arrested after altercation

A Boutte man and Burger King employee was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly threatened another employee with a shotgun after a verbal altercation.

Herschel Hill, 28 and of 398 Ash St. in Boutte, was arrested Dec. 20 and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm after the incident, which stemmed from a work-related argument at a Destrehan Burger King, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

After the two exchanged words, Hill allegedly went to his vehicle and retrieved a shotgun, then placed it on the restaurant counter. The victim called 911 and deputies arrived, took the weapon and placed Hill under arrest.

Hill is being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on a bond of $20,000. He has a court arraignment scheduled Jan. 24.
