Coastal Waste manager says rape suspects weren’t employees

Mark Fridge, division manager of Coastal Waste Services said neither of the men arrested and charged with aggravated rape of a 14 year-old Destrehan girl, July 25, worked directly for his company.

“Eli Davis is not one of our employees, I’ve never heard of this guy,” he told the Herald-Guide.

Fridge said the other suspect, Frederick L. Evans, 20, was employed through a temporary labor service contractor company he uses called, Big Easy Staffing Services.

“I’m not commenting on Evans guilt or innocence, however my company does not condone this kind of behavior from anyone,” Fridge said.

“Evans is a resident of St. Charles Parish we ask our temporary service contractors to try and employ locals”. he continued.

“It’s good for the parish’s economy and if you hire a person from the area, they are more familiar with the community.”
