Businesses transform into haunted house

Three area businesses are joining forces to bring more fun to the parish for kids this Halloween.

BJ’s Mobile Service, in conjunction with Bourgeois Complete Renovations and Bourgeois Home Improvements, will transform the Paradis office space they share into a spooky, kid-friendly “House of Horrors,” for the month of October.

“We recently moved into our new location in Paradis, and while cleaning out the building, we decided that it would be a great idea to use the space as a haunted house until we are ready to move in and operate our home occupations,” said James Lutz, spokesperson for BJ’s Mobile Service.

“There really isn’t anything fun to do within the parish around Halloween time and this will give parents an alternative to traveling outside of St. Charles.”

The first annual haunted house will feature a maze, spooky clowns and other dressed up characters, Halloween decorations, black lights and other animated displays.
According to Lutz, there is more fun in the works in the weeks to come.

“Right now we’re working on obtaining permits in order to serve food like hot dogs, nachos and cheese and other favorites like jambalaya,” Lutz said. “All of which should be approved within the next week or so. We also hope to hold bobbing for apples contests and other games.”

Admission for the haunted house is $10. Those with student IDs will receive $1 off the admission price. House of Horrors will be open Thursday through Sunday each week from dusk until midnight.
