Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. (BSI) and Sealy & Company announced the execution of a long-term deal to extend its lease for 9,959 square feet of office space in the One James Park Office Building in James Business Park, located in St. Charles Parish.
“Bollinger St. Rose has proven to be a successful location for our company. The office’s close proximity to the airport and downtown make it an ideal location for recruiting employees in the metro area,”BSI’s CEO and Chairman of the Board “Boysie” Bollinger said. “The support of St. Charles Parish Government played a pivotal role in our decision to locate in the park initially, and the parish’s continued cooperation was a factor in our decision to extend our lease.”
Bollinger’s decision to maintain its local presence is great news for the local economy, according to St. Charles Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, Jr.
“We are very fortunate to retain Bollinger as a member of our business community, especially in these uncertain economic times,” he said. “I want to thank Mr. Bollinger for his decision to remain in St. Charles Parish and for the commitment and investment he has made in our community.”
Bollinger’s St. Rose location was first established in 2004. The office is home to approximately 31 Bollinger employees. The company’s employment numbers exceeded expectations, according to Corey Faucheux, Director of Economic Development & Tourism for St. Charles Parish.
“I cannot overstate our excitement over the company’s decision. Since we initially recruited them over 5 years ago, Bollinger has increased its St. Rose staffing levels by approximately 72 percent and offers salaries at or near the upper tier of the local wage scale,” he said. “They are exactly the type of company we aspire to attract to our parish.”
