Big Fireworks, music planned for July 4 celebration

The Sixteenth Annual St. Charles Parish Independence Day Celebration will be held on Monday, July 3rd, at the West Bridge Park in Luling from 6 – 9 p.m. “We are planning another family-oriented celebration with the local band, Renegade, providing entertainment and ending with a professional fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.,” noted Steve Sirmon, Public Information Officer for the Parish.

Refreshments will be sold by local non-profit organizations. The Girl Scouts will be selling hot dogs and the Boy Scouts will serve soft drinks. The Luling United Methodist Church will staff the nacho booth and the American Cancer Society will be offering pecan pies while the Republican Women of St. Charles will have a sweets booth.

“We invite everyone to bring their lawn chairs and come out to an evening of fun and fireworks,” said Sirmon. This year’s event is being planned by Becky Gomez, Wanda Candies, Steve Sirmon and Larry Matson.
