Arrest made in St. Rose attempted murder case

A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with attempted second-degree murder after opening fire upon a man answering the door at a St. Rose home occupied by the victim.  

Troy Evans Jr., 22 and of St. Rose, was arrested and accused of being responsible for the March 28 incident, which occurred in the 500 block of Turtle Creek Lane. The victim, 42-year-old Jonathan Beason, was transported to a local area hospital for treatment after suffering five non-threatening gunshot wounds and is in stable condition, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. 

Beason told police that a man knocked on the door of the residence, and upon opening the door, the latter began firing at him. Witnesses told police a black male wearing black clothing fled from the location.
