Accused slasher of three St. Charles police car tires charged with criminal damage

Accused is believed to be from Virginia

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Rogers on Saturday for allegedly slashing tires on three police cars in Luling.

Rogers has been charged with three counts of criminal damage to property.

In possession of a Virginia ID card, Rogers told police he was living with a friend in Luling. Rogers was arrested after allegedly slashing the tires on three Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the Westwood Inn and Dot’s Diner on Highway 90 in Luling.

A witness told authorities a man in a vehicle parked in the Dot’s-hotel parking lot, exited the vehicle and approached the units. He witnessed Rogers apparently puncture the tires and flee the area on a mountain style bicycle with a front basket attached, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Rogers is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
