Absentee voting and polling places …

March 31 is an important day for the St. Charles School Board. Members will be awaiting the results of two millage renewals of which one is to be used for operation and maintenance within the parish school system and the other for construction and improvement of school houses in the district.

Finding out where to vote in person is as easy as contacting Louisiana’s Secretary of State at (225) 922-0900 or accessing the State site on the web at www.sos.louisiana.gov.

For those who can’t make it to the polls, absentee voting is also an option. Absentee voting is not available for all people, so check with the Secretary of State to see if you qualify. To request normal absentee ballots by mail, you must complete and return a request for absentee voting by mail PDF form indicating the reason you are not able to vote in person absentee or in person on election day.

The deadline for requesting a form is March 27. The deadline for returning the form to the registrar is March 30.
