The week leading up to the Destrehan and Hahnville football game is usually filled with shenanigans, but authorities say that three West Bank teens took it too far.
Jonathan Lanoue, 18, Tyler Brady, 17, and a 15-year-old were arrested after police say they were driving around Destrehan shooting paintballs at houses. When stopped by deputies, authorities say they found marijuana, a shotgun and a rifle in the vehicle.
St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said his office received more complaints during this past rivalry week than they ever had before.
“The complaints rise to a level beyond mere ‘pranks,’” Champagne said. “I have received legitimate complaints about vandalism and trespassing in the wee hours of the morning by people not expecting it.
“I urge parents and everyone else that criminal activity will not be tolerated.”
Brady and Lanoue were both charged with use of a firearm with a controlled, dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
