Two R.K. Smith students are national young leaders

Two R.K. Smith 8th grade students attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Birmingham,  Ala.

Jason Roberts and Justin Cannon were nominated to attend the conference because they have exhibited leadership potential, have achieved academic excellence and have acquired a level of maturity that supercedes that of their peers.

These students were able to experience hands-on governmental interaction as they worked with other students from across the country to re-enact facets of our American democracy.

“The best part about the conference was all of the new friends that I have made,” Justin said.
