Voice of Democracy Essay Contest winners and Anna Busalacchi

St. Charles Catholic students win essay contest
Winners in the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign War post 3337 from St. Charles Catholic High School are pictured below: Jimmy Antin, third place; Zachary Loupe, second ; Michael Morton, first ; VFW post 3337 representative Ray Bass, Jim Tanner, Educator of the Year Award; and Jeffery Montz, Citizenship Education Award. Both Tanner and Montz will attend a banquet with the local VFW post in honor of them being recipients of these awards. Student award winners received medals for their essays and Morton received a savings bond.

HHS girl will represent school at worldwide conference

HHS student Anna Busalacchi was selected to represent her school at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar in Baton Rouge this summer.  The Hugh O’Brian Youth Seminar, HOBY, is a world-wide organization dedicated to preparing our country’s high school Sophomores to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.  Busalacchi is an honor student involved in many extracurricular activities, as well as numerous projects in her church and community.  She is the daughter of Marissa Bosco and John Busalacchi of Luling.
